Here is what NOT to say when your customer comes in to Summit Store 3 in Montpelier, VT to report that the air pump you own and supposedly maintain has a hose that is broken in half in two places and has therefore just completely deflated your bicycle tire: “That has nothing to do with us” “The air is free so…yeah that’s nothing to do with us” “People are careless” “We check it every day” (demonstrably untrue) “we couldn’t have known, it must have just happened today” and etc. Here is what would have been nice to offer while I waited for a DIFFERENT service station to send someone to reinflate the tire: - A little empathy - a modest gift card to make up for the fact that your piece of “free” machinery caused harm and ruined my day - maybe just a free soda while I wait for more effective service to arrive? Some iota of remorse? Nope. Nothing. Just come out 15 minutes later (while I am there being rescued by a very kind service station guy who is not from Mobil) to look at the hose and grumble that it wasn’t that way before. Well, let me know if you want the photos, because it had clearly been broken for a while.

I have a brain injury and have trouble remembering things, and the cashier wouldn’t take my ID because I couldn’t remember an address from years ago on my ID. I even showed her my military ID with my same birthday on it and she refused to service me. As a disabled black person I felt really discriminated against, and will never return to this store after the treatment I faced today, no compassion what so ever was shown.

Michele thank you for always being so kind, today your sincere care and concern made my entire day shift for the better. I always fill up here because everyone is so wonderful. Thank you tremendously Michele, your kindness and help today got me on the back on the road again. You are an incredible human and so appreciate your energy and care! I can't thank you enough, just know you put air under my wings for always.

Pretending the bathroom is out of order. Very rude cashier. Find out and fire her. Restore bathroom. Absolutely no more rude employees. Life is so expensive now we will not being giving any money to support rude people.

This store is close to downtown Montpelier Vermont. Close to Shaws Supermarket. You can use your points from Shaws at this gas station to get up to a dollar off the price of gasoline. It's a pretty clean little store. Employees are ok. Bathrooms are a bit dirty. The store is typically pretty well stocked. They survived the recent flooding and stayed open.
